Just a few days before Jan will head to Rochester, NY... without me... In hindsight, everything worked out just fine (hindsight is always 20/20, eh?) but at the time I was devastated. Aaaanyways - here are a couple (fuzzy) pics from our party at the Neckarwiesen and from Jan's parents' home.

Party @ Michaela's & Wiebke's. No idea when.

I think this was a combined 2-birthday and farewell party. Or something like that. The day started out "great"- for some reason I thought it was a good idea to test gravity... with the freshly made Creme Brulee. Oh what a mess! The day definitely improved from there on!

There was also some food - here after the initial raid.

And probably one of the highlights of the day: My friends built an atom trap for me! Including an atom which had looking into the laser beam (as demonstrated by the black eye!). Kids - don't try this at home. I never managed to take it with me to the States, but it has been sitting at my parents' house for the last years. Unfortunately, they had to toss it just a few weeks ago due to a bug invasion (*sigh*).
