June 2019

Well, June has come and gone quickly.
Windsurfing season started, of course, though the wind was pretty spotty at Doug's beach that time.
Barbeque season started, too, of course.
Wind had picked up substantially by mid-June!
Then we tried our hand at some molecular gastronomy - imported from Japan.
Technically we succeeded, and Michaela was curious to see how these little bites would taste...
...well, there's room for improvement, let's put it that way. [Michaela: It was really, really, REALLY bad...]
Next stop: Munich, Germany. Since I skipped  'Laser World of Photonics' two years ago, it had been 4(!) years since I had seen my very dear friend Chris (who is always gracious enough to let me crash at his place when I visit Munich). First stop was a visit to the local makerspace where Chris is regularly tinkering with his magnetocaloric engines.

View from Chris' place.

LWOP 2019 - ~34000 people attended.
 My parents visited, of course!

Overall I ate way too much, but boy, it was a lot of fun reconnecting!
